The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 GREAT CHART CHILMINGTON GREEN Chilmington Farmhouse TQ 94 SE 15/49 II 2. C18 or earlier. L-shaped building. Two storeys. Ground floor stone rubble with red brick dressings and quoins, above tile-hung. Hipped tiled roof with 3 gabled dormers. Three casement windows. The north front has a C19 projection added in the centre, with a shaped Dutch gable over containing a cartouche with the crest of the Toke family, formerly of Godinton.
