Listed Building record TQ 82 NW 76 - PARISH CHURCH OF ST PETER
Summary
Grade II* listed building. Main construction periods 1200 to 1931. The grade II listed parish church of St. Peter dates from the 13th century. Originally larger, demolition in 1700 left only the nave and north aisle, with it's 14th century arcade on octagonal piers. Alterations were made to the church in the 14th, 18th, 19th & 20th century. Internally it contains a large late Norman font and a pulpit dating to the Jacobean period (1603 – 1625).
The churchyard contains some 18th century table tombs and three 18th century headstones with three cherubs each.
