The following text is from the original listed building designation:
BIDDENDEN 1. 5272 River Hall TQ 83 NE 4/149 II 2. L-shaped, late mediaeval hall house refaced in C18. Exterior of 2 storeys and attics red brick, the 1st floor of the west wall of the west wing tile hung. Tiled roof with 4 gabled dormers. Above the roof is a small square wooden bell turret with an ogee-shaped lead cupola over it, surmounted by a weather-vane. Four sashes with glazing bars intact. Doorcase with flat hood on brackets and door of 6 fielded panels. Interior has dragon beam, Crown post roof, partitions each side of the hall and an early C18 kitchen with Spit rack.
