The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TQ 93 SE WAREHORNE CHURCH ROAD (south side) 5/152 Chest tomb and headstone 1 to 3 metres south of Church of St. Matthew GV II Chest tomb and headstone. Tomb to Edward Maylam, d.1744. Moulded top slab on fluted and gadrooned baluster piers with raised and fielded panels with cut away corners. Headstone to Thomas Maylam, d.1779, about 2 feet high, with scallop-scrolled shoulders to corded scrolled cornice with central scallop, and (worn) cherub in sunburst motif.
