Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 CHARING HIGH STREET (east side) Elizabethan Court (Nos 1 to 8 (consec)) (formerly listed as The Old Swan Hotel) TQ 9549 22/15 14.2.67 II GV 2. Formerly the Old Swan Hotel. C17. Two storeys and attic in the north gable. Red brick and grey headers on a cemented base. Tiled roof with gable at each end. Above the ground floor is a pattern of machicolation in bricks simulating an overhang. Four casement windows with brick dripstones over the end first floor windows. Three small modern bays on ground floor. Doorcase, at the head of 5 steps with iron handrail, having fluted pilasters, projecting cornice over, semi-circular fanlight and 6 panelled doors. Projecting iron bracket from which the inn sign once hung. At the south corner of the front is a wooden post from which presumably another inn sign hung. Interior contains chamfered beams.
