Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5344 CASTLE STREET (West Side) No 1 (Castle Hotel) TR 0042 NE 2/162 II GV 2. C18. 3 storeys pebble-dashed now colour washed. Hipped tiled roof. 2 double sashes to each elevation. Early C19 pub front with pilasters and bracket and arched doorcase with keystone. The rear elevation has a doorcase with cornice, moulded architrave and 6 flush panelled door, the top 2 panels cut away and glazed.
Nos 1 to 15 (odd) form a group with Nos 1 to 7 (odd) New Street. Nos 3 to 11 (odd) Castle Street are of local interest.
