The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 GREAT CHART THE STREET (north-west side) Gothic Cottages (Nos 1 and 2 TQ 9842 26/66 II GV 2. Mid C19 pair of cottages. One storey and attics ragstone nibble. Tiled roof with massive brick chimney stack. One gable to each, containing dormer and carved barge boards. Two casements. Simple doorcase.
