Additional bibliography. (3-5)
Also referred to as St. Mary's Hospital, the excavation located the walls of the hall and chapel of the hospice. Documentary evidence suggests that the excavation was limited and there is the potential for survival of other buildings. Burials probably occured inside the precinct, human remains already discovered may be related to this. (TQ 76 NW 262) Romano-British domestic deposits were also discovered during excavation, no furhter details. (6)
Additional Info (7)
In 2007 Archaeology South-East carried out an evaluation. Extensive evidence of medieval structures was found. These probably form part of the precinct of the hospital. These included walls and a glazed tile floor. (8)
