Nos 70 and 71 Castle Street [TR 14725761 sited from OS 1/1250]. Grade II. A late 15th century timber-framed house, refronted. (1-2) Nos 70 and 71 Castle Street are two surviving elements of a late 15th century row of four units. Surveyed during refurbishment. (3)

2. A late C15 timber-framed house refronted but with overhang 2 storeys. lst floor is faced with curved tiles, ground floor is brick. Old tiled roof, 3 C19 sashes. 2 early C19 shopfronts. Central passageway. Rear elevation has a brick extension with braces and partially hung with curved tiles.
Nos 68 to 77 (consec) and Nos 80 to 82 (consec) form a group.
