The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HIGH STREET 1. 5273 (East Side) Nos 1 and 3 (Bear and Key Hotel) TR 1066 NE 1/125 II 2. 4 storey brick built mid C19 building with plain tiled main and dormer roofs. 5 dormers with carved bargeboards. Brick modillion eaves cornice. 4 bay windows on 1st and 2nd floors with glazing bars intact and tiled roofs over 2nd floor windows. 1 sash window in centre on 2nd floor with yellow brick flat arch and keystone. Ground floor rendered and rusticated and 4 bays with glazing bars altered. Central doorway with entablature on brackets over.
