Description from record TR 15 NW 221:
Nos 26, 27 and 27A St Peter's Street (TR 14655805 - sited from OS 1:1250 1971). 26 St Peter's Street, Grade II. C18 facade to a timber-framed building. 2 storeys painted brick. Oversailing 1st floor. Old tiled roof with 2 hipped dormers. 3 segmental sashes set in moulded architraves with glazing bars intact. Later C19 shop fronts. Nos 27 and 27A St Peter's Street, Grade II. Early C18 facade to earlier timber-framed building. 2 storeys painted brick. Oversailing1st floor. Old tiled roof with 2 hipped dormers. Bracket cornice. 2 double hung sashes with glazing bars intact. Early C19 shop fronts,1 having panelled risers. Doorcase to No 27 has reeded pilasters and rectangular fanlight. (1) Additional bibliography. (2) 26 St Peter's Street dates from the 15th century with later additions.The surviving timber frame was thoroughly examined following a fire in 1978. (3) Measured drawings of the medieval timber-framed buildings, 26 and 27 St Peter's Street, were made by Henk Strik. (4-5) Nos 26A and B St Peter's Street. 19th century brick facade to earliertimber-framed building. Nos 27 and 27A St Peter's Street. Recently restored 19th century facade to possible 15th century timber-framed building. (6)
