Imported from the Canterbury UAD: Formerly an inn.
THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON and THE DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE were both licensed inns at no 46 Broad Street in the 19th century.

In 1831 the innkeeper was William Watts and the Inn was licensed THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON obviously in recognition of the Battle of Waterloo. In 1848 William Chippenden was inkeeper. The WELLINGTON was still there in 1867.

In 1875 the name of this innchanged to THE DUKE Of CAMBRIDGE. In 1888 Jas Hills was inkeeper. The inn appears to have closed in 1911. Now residential.
