Early-medieval burial found in c.1859. Archaeologia Cantiana records '..Saxon remains..dug up midway between the Temple Farm and Cuxton' Reportedly the find included that of a Frankish 'angon', the first to be found in a grave in this country. (2)
A summary of desk based assessment and walkover survey took place in 1994 for the widening of Junctions 1-4 of the M2. An Anglo-Saxon skeleton was found in the 19th century, most likely due to the construction of the lower railway line. During the walkover survey it was mentioned no archaeological features are discernible now. (4)
