The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 944 KING STREET (South East Side)
No 52 TR 1458 SE 2/304 3.5.67.

2. With No 8 St Alphege Lane. A C17 building, now faced with stucco. This was originally a 2-storeyed building but the upper floor has been demolished. Tiled roof. 3 windows, the left window being a double hung curved sash. Simple wooden doorcase with moulded architrave and 9 panelled door. Rear elevation has 2 later dormers. The 2 rooms into which the building is divided both have early C17 plaster ceilings.
