Full Description

Description from record TR 15 NW 382:
No 6A and 7 The Parade [TR 14955779 sited from OS 1/1250 1974]. Grade II. 16th century timber-framed house. (1) No 6A The Parade. Timber-framed building, probably medieval, but with stuccoed 19th century front. No 7 The Parade. Medieval timber-framed building. (2)

Dendrochronology dating of structural timbers of 7 The Parade. Date range 1345-1350. (3)

A building survey was carried out in 2006 in advance of proposed sale of the site but no evidence of early fabric in nos 6A or 7 could be seen. A vaulted medieval cellar containing a well was observed though (5)

Nos 6A & 7 TR 1457 NE 4/60 3.5.67.

2. C16 timber framed house with plastered front and overhang. 3 storeys. Hipped old tiled roof. 5 restored mullioned and transomed casements on 2nd floor with leaded lights. Ground floor has 4 restored oriels with mullions and transoms and carved brackets in the form of centaurs. Later shopfront. Side elevation extends into Mercery Lane,
Form a group together with Nos 10 to 16 (consec) Mercery Lane.
