A heritage assessment of the building describes it as possessing a 19th century historic staircase, a Tudor ceiling, and a Tudor window. An excerpt from the report reads as follows "No.38: Most intact at basement, ground and roof level. First floor has been compromised by office refurbishment including infilling between the two cross wings with a flat roof at first floor. A historic staircase survives between first and 2nd floor in the rear wing (late 19th century). The ground and basement bar contain significant historic material, overpainted multiple times. At ground floor access from No.37 the Tudor ceiling survives, albeit within a modern context and repurposed as a board room. The Tudor window overlooking the courtyard is a feature of significance as is the roof scape. This building is of highest significance in terms of age and surviving fabric out of all the buildings on the site." (4)
