Cemetery Memorial. Circa 1924 to the great novelist Joseph Conrad (1857-1924), and other members of his family. Stone square enclosure with low walls a few inches high, a roughly hewn battered monolith with diagonal top and inscription, 3 stone slabs and central stone vase, the whole area covered with stone chippings. Inscription on monolith reads "JOSEPH TEADOR CONRAD KORZENIOWSKI BORN DECEMBER 3RD 1857 DIED AUGUST 3RD 1924" and a quotation from Spencer "ELEGY AFTER TOYLE, PORT AFTER STORMY SEAS, EASE AFTER WARRE, DEATH AFTER LIFE DOES GREATLY PLEASE". Inscription to his wife Jessie Emmeline Conrad Korzenoiwska below. Included as the funerary memorial to a writer of international importance.
