Summary

Several burial vessels were found in 1867 in Furness Brickfield, Rowe Place Farm, Aylesford. These include a bowl, an olla, a narrow-mouthed beaker, 4 jars and a samian cup (form 35). These are KAS Museum items. The exact site of the field is unknown.

Full Description

In the Kent Arch. Soc. Mus. are several pots from burials found in 1867 in Furness Brickfield on Rowe Place Farm. (1) Additions to the Kent Arch. Soc. Mus : From the late E.L. Betts - Seven small and one large Roman urns, found at Furness's Brickfield, Burham. (2) Finds from this site held in the Museum (Accn.numbers K.A.S.79-87) includes a bowl, an olla, a narrow-mouthed beaker, four jars and a Samian cup form 35. (3) Furness's Brickfield has not been located, either through local enquiries or from the Tithe Maps, held by Kent Records Office, Archives Dept., Maidstone (4)
