Full Description
Roman pottery from a grave in Lees Chalk Pit, Burham was donated to Maidstone Museum by E.L. Betts, a two handled buff cinerary urn containing cremated remains, a dark grey or black patera, sherds of a rough cast pot, Durobrivian ware, and a Samian patera 35/36 with leafpattern. Accession numbers KAS 88-91 (1,2) Two Roman urns found in a chalk pit at Burham, purchased for MaidstoneMuseum c.1870. (3)
