Summary
A Bronze Age socketed axe was found in about 1920 by workmen taking topsoil off the chalk at a chalk pit in Burham. It is 3.8 inches long (9.5cm) and the green patina on one side is almost worn away to the metal.The exact find spot is unkown.

Full Description
A bronze socketed axe, found about 1920 by workmen taking topsoil off the chalk of a chalk pit at Burham, was presented to Maidstone Mus. by Mr J.H. Evans who obtained it from the late Mr W.H. Cook. 3.8" long; the green patina on one face is almost worn away tothe metal. (1) Exact find spot not ascertained. (2)
