Full Description
A Roman burial comprising a skeleton and two vases, one decorated with a yellow scroll, was found by workmen in 1913 when widening the east side of a road called 'Colepit,' or 'Copit' Lane, in the woods at Bridgewoods near Rochester. Both vases were destroyed. (1) The road referred to is almost certainly 'Coalpit Bank' (name TQ 744636). No information on the site was, however, obtained (2)
