Monument to 41 Kentish Martyrs TR 1457 SE 8/736

2. This monument was erected by public subscription in 1899. Stone obelisk surmounted by a cross, erected on the site of a stake where 41 Kentish Protestants were burnt in the reign of Queen Mary (1555-1558).
