St Augustine's College TR 1557 NW 5/574 3.5.67.

2. Built betvieen 1845 and 1848 by William Butterfield. Arranged around a courtyard. 2 to 3 storeys knapped flint with stone window dressings and quoins. Tiled roof with massive flint arid stone stacks. In the centre of the courtyard is a Victorian drinking fountain of ragstone with a cross, spire and quatrefoil ornaments.
No 1, wall adjoining No 1 to right, water pump opposite No 1, No 2, Nos 4 to 18 (even), St Augustine's College, Hall, Chapel, The Cemetery Gateway, The Great Gateway, wall in front of St Augustine's form a group.

Description from record TR 15 NE 954:
Early in 1942, in a reorganisation of civil-defence in Canterbury, Rest and Feeding Centres were made independent. An Emergency feeding centre was established at St Augustine’s College (the Cookery School on St Peter’s Place was also considered, but rejected, for this centre).
