Summary

Grade I listed building. Main construction periods 1066 to 1922 Pre-Conquest, 1066, origins, with some mediaeval traces. It was much restored in the 19th century. Part pebbledashed and part faced with stone with tiled roof. The tower is part weatherboarded with a broached shingled spire. Chancel with north and south chapels, nave with north and south aisle and west tower. The tower retains two Saxon windows. The west end of the nave is mediaeval. The north aisle was rebuilt by E Cresy in 1839. Ewan Christian rebuilt the chancel in 1884. R Merchant rebuilt the nave and south aisle between 1909 and 1922 with Arts and Crafts details. Porch added under west tower in 1909.The interior contains a pulpit dated 1655, the Royal Arms of George II and a good carved chancel screen of 1920.
