The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5274 SOUTHFLEET WESTWOOD ROAD (south-east side)
Rose Cottage (Formerly listed as Mates Farm Cottages (Nos 1 and 2))

2. C18 or possibly older cottages, altered in the C19. Two storeys 6 windows. Ground floor red brick, except the south end which is of buff bricks, above roughcast and colour-washed, with a cornice between. Roof now mainly refaced with modern tiles. Eaves cornice. Gable end with kneelers. Double-hung sash windows with glazing bars to ground floor. Horizontally-sliding sash windows on first floor. Doorcases with flat hoods on brackets, and 6 panelled doors. The left hand cottage has rustic supports to its doorcase.

On 1/06/2016 the name of Mates Farm Cottages (Nos 1 and 2) changed to Rose Cottage.
