Grade II listed building.Almshouses founded by Katherine Wrote in 1597. Numbers 266 and 268 front the main road with 270 and 272 attached to the rear. 266 and 268 are 18th century, the left bay of 268 is early 19th century and 270 and 272 were built mid 19th century. They are of red brick and stucco with tiled roofs.

2. Founded by Katherine Wrott in 1597. Two storeys and attics red brick. Tiled roof. Four casement windows and one modern dormer. Pointed, arched doorcases. Tablet in the centre of the first floor with 2 small cartouches and the inscription "Katherine Wrott, widow, late wife of Robert Wrott Esquire, 1597". Listing NGR: TQ5573069664 (1)

[T1 5573 6966] Almshouses (AD 1596] [T.I.] (2) The Almshouses founded by Katherine Wrote in 1597. 2 storeys and attic. Red brick, Tiled roof. Tablet in centre "Katherine Wrote, Widow, late wife of Robt. Wrote Esquire, 1597". (3) Almshouses, as described by Authority 2. Original foundation comprises four tenements: alterations and additions in 19th century. In fair condition. See GP. AO/60/142/3 from SE. (4) No change.
