The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ASH MOAT LANE TR 2858 (south side) 10/23 Moat Farmhouse 13.10.52 II
House C16 re-fronted late C17. Timber framed and clad with red brick. Plain tiled roof. Two storeys and attic on plinth with discontinuous plat band and boxed eaves to roof with kneelered gables, 3 hipped dormers and triple lozenge set stacks at end left and end right. Regular fenestration of 5 cross windows on first floor and 4 on ground floor. Central door of 6 raised and fielded panels with rectangular fanlight, containing stained glass Coat of Arms of Thomas Stoughton dated 1575, and moulded shallow pedimented hood. Hipped C18 outshot to left, one-storey and attic with 1 hipped wooden casement. Catslide outshot to rear. Interior: reported full frame, clasped purlin roof, mullioned windows with ovolo mullions (See Igglesden, 18,65).
