The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5275 ST PETER'S STREET (West Side)
Nos 3,5,9 and 11 (Formerly listed as Nos 3,5 and 9) TR 3358 1/117 19.5.50.

2. Originally the Town Gaol, now 2 small houses and a shop. Timber-framed building refronted with brick in the C17. The front is now partly painted and partly washed stone colour partly plastered and partly cemented. 2 storeys, 5 windows in all. Nos 3 and 5 have large C17 casements of 4 lights each window with wooden transomes and mullions. No 9 has an C18 sash window with glazing bars intact on the 1st floor and a small modern shop window below. 2 doorways with pilasters originally of brick, but the south ones now cemented, and pediments over. Passage through the building with studded timber framed walls leads to No 7 at the rear.
Nos 3 to 11 (odd) form a group.
