The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ALFRED SQUARE 1. 1035 (North Side) No 3 TR 3755 SE 2/169 II GV 2. Mid C19. 2 storeys basement and attics painted brick. Slate mansard roof with pedimented dormer. 4 light bay with pilasters on the 1st floor and similar 5 light bay on the ground floor. Entrance on the side elevation. Included for group value. Nos 1 to 8b (consec) form a group with No 1 Sandown Road.
