The following text is from the original listed building designation:
BEACH STREET 1. 1035 (West Side) No 101 (Star and Garter Hotel) TR 3752 NE 1/193 II GV 2. Late C18 or early C19. Centre portion of 2 storeys stuccoed with parapet and tiled roof with 2 dormers. 3 altered windows and doorcase with pilasters and cornice flanked by 2 portions of 3 storeys and 1 window bay each. The one on the left has a 3-light bay on 1st floor. The one on the right has 2 1-light bays and 3 sashes on ground floor. No 101 and Nos 105 to 117 (odd) form a group.
