TR 24 NE TEMPLE EWELL SINGLEDGE LANE (south side)
1/85 Temple Farmhouse 27.8.52 GV II
House. C18 and early C19. Painted flint and brick with plain tiled roof two storeys and attic, the window dressings and quoins picked out originally in red brick, now all painted over. Stacks projecting at end left and at end right with 2 hipped dormers.Regular fenestration of 2 sashes and central, glazing bar sash on first floor, and 2 segmentally headed sashes on ground floor, with central half-glazed door (originally of 6 raised and fielded panels) in moulded and panelled surround with rectangular fanlight, pilaster doorcase and cornice all within mid C20 rendered concrete flat roofed porch, two storey wing to right with hipped roof and 1 wooden casement on each floor and stack to right, with 1 storey projecting wing with 1 wooden casement, boarded door, stack and loft door in end gable. The name of the house is taken from the site of a preceptory of the Knights Templar in the adjacent field.
