House. 1813 by Sir John Soane for Reverend John Monins and extended early C19. Buff brick and slate roof with large central stack. Slightly projecting, and rendered, centre, originally with a large porch, now lost. Regular fenestration of 3 glazing bar sashes on first floor, 2 on ground floor with central panelled door with rectangular fanlight and sidelights in pilaster surround. Two recessed wings to left, the first hipped, the second gabled, with 1 glazing bar sash on each floor, and coat of arms relief to centre left. Five bay right return with outline of conservatory, now lost. Interior: panelling and library fittings reported (see D. Stroud, Sir John Soane, 1985; see also BOE Kent II 1983, 434).

House built in 1813, by Sir John Soane for Reverend John Monins, with an early 19th century extension. The house is built of buff brick with a slate roof and a large central stack. The centre of the building projects slightly and has been rendered. A stable block dating from 1806 that used to stand within the curtilage of the listed building was demolished in 1985
