TR 34 SW GUSTON DUKE OF YORK'S ROYAL MILITARY SCHOOL

School. 1909 by Sir Henry Tanner. Pebbledash with red brick dressings and with plain tiled roof. Library range with class rooms projecting to south, and common rooms to north. Main elevation: five projecting wings, the end 2 treated as pedimented pavilions, the centre three with hipped roofs, all with plinth, quoins and modillion eaves cornice, with segmental semi-dormers left and right, and 3 pedimented semi-dormers with side lights to centre. Large transverse roof of Library with central balustraded cupola with weather vane. Single storey side wings with glazing bar sashes, segmental semi- dormers and half glazed doors. C20 additions to rear. Interior: wooden truss roof to Library with curved braces, with inserted floor.
