TR 25 NE STAPLE GROVE ROAD
5/400 Icehouse about 25m SW of The Grove
GV II
Icehouse. Mid C18. Red brick. Arched entrance passage leads down to barrel vaulted chamber at right angles, about 6 feet by 15 feet in size. Associated with the last mansion of the Groves built for Sir William Lynch, the former stabling (now houses) walled garden and dovecot of which still survive (items 5/228, 5/229 & 5/230).
