The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ASH TR 2858 THE STREET (south side) 10/87 Churchyard wall and gate piers about 20 metres north of Church of St Nicholas GV II
Wall and gate piers. Circa 1700, the wall later C18. Gate piers in red brick with stone dressings. About 10 feet high with moulded stone offsets and stone cornice caps. Enriched scrolled consoles on abutments to left and right. Three stone steps and C20 iron rails between piers. Wall red brick with stone coping extending along road front to right (west). Height increasing from about 4 feet to about 10 feet as road descends, about 100 yards in length, the last 30 or so with a plinth, the last 8 yards buttressed to retain flight of steps on churchyard side of wall.
