ASH THE STREET TR 2858 (north side) No 76 (Forge Cottage) 10/54 No 78 (Pearl Cottage) GV
Cottage pair. Early C18. Red brick and plain tiled roof. Two storeys and attic on plinth with brick eaves cornice to roof with segmental headed kneelered parapet gable at left, 3 gabled dormers and 4 stacks ranged to rear. Regular fenestration of 3 glazing bar sashes and 2 C20 metal casements on first floor, 2 glazing bar sashes and 1 metal casement on ground floor all with segmental heads. Door of 6 raised and fielded panels to left, and boarded door to right, both with flat hoods on brackets. Rear: large catslide outshot with large free standing stacks. Included for group value.
