The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ASH TR 2858 THE STREET (south side) 10/73 No.41 (formerly 11.10.63 listed as Chilton Cottage) GV II
House. Circa 1700. Red brick (formerly painted) with plain tiled roof. Two storeys with brick eaves cornice to roof with kneelered parapet gables and re-built central stack. Regular fenestration of 3 glazing bar sashes on first floor and 2 on ground floor, all with gauged heads those on ground floor with flying cornices. Central door of 4 raised and fielded panels with rectangular fanlight, now painted over, and moulded flat hood on brackets. Left return: with 2 leaded wooden casements on each floor.
