The following text is from the original listed building designation:
NONINGTON MILL LANE TR 25 SE (east side) Barn Cottage (formerly 3/146 listed as Barn Cottage 11.10.63 & The Old Thatch) GV II House. C15 altered early C18. Timber framed and exposed large panel frame with plaster infill on flint and brick base. Right end wall rebuilt with red brick. Thatched roof. Three framed bays. Two storeys with hipped roof, the ridge higher to left of central stack. Three wooden casements on first floor high under eaves and almost as semi-dormers, and 2 wooden casements on ground floor with off centre rib and stud door. The right end ground floor bay with ornamental bracing and blocked 3 light mullioned windows either side of what must originally have been a doorway or window. Outshot at end left. Stack and outshot to rear right integral with right end wall.
