The following text is from the original listed building designation:
GOODNESTONE BONNINGTON TR 25 SE 3/46 Bonnington 11.10.63 Farmhouse GV II House. At least C16. Timber framed and plastered and part clad with painted brick. Part exposed close studded frame on right return with plaster infill. Plain tiled roof. Two storeys and basement with hipped roof and stacks to centre left and projecting and offset at end right and at rear end right, diagonally set on the corner of the house. Five wooden casements on the first floor, and 2 large casements on the ground floor with panelled door to centre right with flat hood on brackets and flight of 4 steps. Basement opening to right. Two storey wing of painted brick to left with 2 wooden casements and boarded door. An ancient manorial site and fount and origin of the de Bois or Boys family, locally prominent and nationally of note.
