The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TR 24 SE ALKHAM ALKHAM VALLEY ROAD (north side) 4/14 Halton Court GV II House. Mid C18 recladding of C15 or earlier timber frame. Clad with red brick and rendered, with plain tiled roof. Two storeys with kneelered parapet gable to left and stacks to centre left and projecting and offset at end right. Two glazing bar sashes with central wooden casement on first floor, and 3 segmentally headed tripartite glazing bar sashes on ground floor. Door of 6 panels with gable hood to left. Catslide outshot to rear. Interior evidence of timber flamed hall house reported. Brick on front wall initialled: T.L. 1740. Manorial site.
