The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TR 24 SE ALKHAM CHALKSOLE 4/18 The Old Farmhouse, Chalksole II House. Late C18. White brick with red brick and flint South-West elevation and plain tiled roof. Two parallel ranges. Two storeys and basement with stacks to left and to right. Regular fenestration of 2 glazing bar sashes and central semi-circular head glazing bar sash on first floor, arid 2 glazing bar sashes with cambered painted heads on ground floor. Central door of 6 moulded panels with traceried semi-circular fanlight in panelled surround with pilasters, raised entablature and open pediment. Basement opening to right.
