The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TR 24 NW DENTON AND WOOTTON CANTERBURY ROAD (east side) 1/31 The Jackdaw Inn 22.8.62 GV II Public House. Late C18. Red brick and plain tiled roof. Two storeys and corbelled eaves cornice to double span roof with stacks to end left and to end right. Regular fenestration of 2 glazing bar sashes on first floor, and 2 tripartite glazing bar sashes with cambered heads on ground floor, all with shutters. Central door of 6 raised and fielded panels, the top 2 glazed, with flat hood on pilaster surround. Contemporary outbuildings to rear right connected to main range by C20 extensions. Interior largely reorganised.
