The following text is from the original listed building designation:
GOODNESTONE THE STREET TR 25 SE (West side) 3/102 Goodnestone Village Hall GV II Village hall. Early C19. Brown brick and slate roof. Goodnestone Estate style. One storey on plinth with dogtooth eaves cornice. Seven light Dering window to left and boarded door to right in porch with dogtooth cornice to kneelered parapet. Doubled 2 light Dering windows on right return. The building is adjacent to Forge Cottage and was probably originally the forge building.
