The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TR 24 SE ALKHAM ALKHAM VALLEY ROAD (north side) 4/6 Group of 4 head- stones about 15 metres south- west of church of St Anthony GV II Group of 4 headstones. Ann Hammond, d.1737. About 2½ feet high with enriched pulvinated frieze and swan neck pediment decorated with cherub's head. Adam Hammond d.172½ about 2 feet high with double segmental head and 2 skulls. Edward Carter, d.1741. About 2 ½ feet high with double segmental head, 3 skulls and palm fronds. Adam Hammond, d.l783, and Sarah his wife, d.l789. About 2 feet high with shaped head with crude rocaille enrichment and cherub's head.
