The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5275 HIGH STREET (East Side)
Nos 37 and 39 TR 3358 1/149 19.5.50.

2. 2 large early C19 houses, originally a pair. 3 storeys, 3 windows each. Yellow brick on a stuccoed base with red brick relieving arches. Painted wooden stringcourse above ground and 1st floors. Brick parapet. Slated roof. Glazing bars intact in No 37. Doorways with split pilasters, projecting cornices, rectangular fanlights and doors with 2 vertical panels. No 37 has an extra portion to the north, of 2 storeys and 2 windows, which contains another doorway with rectangular fanlight and 6-panel door.
Nos 37 to 51 (odd) form a group.
