Summary

A hoard of bronze implements was discovered by workmen at Roper's Farm, Hoo St. Werburgh, in February 1973. The hoard consisted of 161 items, including part of a crucible, buckle ends and old and damaged items, presumably intended for smelting, as well as axe heads and a large quantity of swords. The date range of the hoard is c.1000-500 BC.
