(TR 32885814) 5275 MOAT SOLE (North Side) No 12 (The Red Cow Public House) TR 3258 1/77 29.4.70 II* GV 2. C16 timber framed building with jettied 1st floor, but refronted. 2 storeys and attic. 2 1st floor and 2 ground floor windows, one gabled dormer all glazing bars complete. Plastered front. 2 panel bead flush door under brick gable end on corbels. Nos 2 to 12 (even) Nos 14 to 22 (even), St Johns Hopital Almhouses and United Reform Church, Cattle Market form a group. (1)
Prior to Poor Law Amendment Act 1834 this building was used as the Parish Poorhouse.
