Milestone. Late C18. Rectangular stone block. About 2 feet high with a slight plinth. Inscribed : Deal 4 Sandwich 2 in incised an painted lettering. London 70 The road was turnpiked in 1797. (See James Carley, Turnpike Roads of Kent).
