Full Description
A fine polished flint axe of the thin butted type was found in the garden of 'Ecklingville' Mid Higham, by Mr. C. Kenworthy. From the same site comes a long flint knife with a polished cutting edge. (1) TQ 71147125 Find-spot pointed out on ground by Mr. Kenworthy, the finder. This neolithic polished axe, seen in Maidstone Museum, was found at a depth of c.18" whilst digging a refuse-pit in 1935. A number of worked flints have also been found in the immediate area suggesting that this may be a possible flint-working site. (a) (2)
