The following text is from the original listed building designation:
DEAL 1 5275 VICTORIA PARADE TR 3752 SE 4/501 Queens Hotel II 2. Built in 1892 by James Brooks as the South Eastern Hotel. Renaissance Dutch style. An asymmetrical building with irregular floor levels and 3 distinct elevations. 3 storeys, attics and basement built of red brick with Ancaster stone dressings. Slate roof. The Victorian Parade elevation has a central projecting gable with pinacles and 2 similar angled corner gables flanked by octagonal turrets with domes. Windows are mullioned and transomed casements and, on the 1st floor, round-headed windows with keystones and semi-circular stone balconettes. Central round-headed entrance with 2 female winged figures in relief, one holding a railway engine, the other a ship. Good cast iron and glazed verandah with stained glass and panels with swag decoration to base. This was not part of the original design but added soon afterwards. The Deal Castle Road elevation has 4 gabled dormers with acroteria and the 1st floor windows have concave stone shell pediments. 2 large curved 3 light bays to ground floor. Good round-headed doorcase with heavy brackets and large concave shell pediment with grotesque mask. The Ranelagh Road elevation is much plainer and the 2 upper floors have modern windows. The interior contains a columned entrance hall with tessellated pavement, Jacobean style wooden dogleg staircase with turned balusters, a Dining Room with Adam style fireplace with swag and anthemion motif and fluted Ionic columns. Dado panelling and plastered ceiling with Tudor Rose design and a Functions room with wooden panelling and plastered ceiling.

It was destroyed by fire in the mid-1980s and demolished subsequently. A new block of flats was erected at its place in the late 1980s.
